With the unveiling of a turbocharged 2020 Legacy, Subaru was the talk of the town at this year’s Chicago Auto Show. Although the debuted model bears a striking resemblance to its last-gen sedan, the all-new ‘20 Subaru Legacy is assuredly far from a carbon copy of the 2019 Legacy. In fact, the hotly anticipated Legacy has been completely revamped, inside and out, and its release will set the stage for Subaru’s busiest autumn in years. (Like the upcoming 2020 Outback, the seventh-generation Legacy is scheduled to go on sale early this fall at Jim Burke Subaru in Birmingham or a Subaru dealership near you.)
Not since 2012 has the Legacy been available with a turbocharged engine. That trend flips with the 2020 Subaru Legacy; a beefy 2.4L turbo-four, which produces 260 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque, will be available in select range-topping Legacy trims. This beast of an engine will break the 60-mph mark in 6.1 seconds while achieving a combined 28-mpg EPA rating.
The 2020 Outback may look like the Subaru wagon of years past – after all, it is sporting a gorgeous exterior, an adorable central stack of high-tech features, and luxurious touches from hood to hatch – but this redesigned crossover is undoubtedly the best Outback to date. In reality, all these new additions to Subaru’s hottest vehicle firmly place it in the category of “most anticipated SUV of the year.”
Subaru emphasizes the need for drivers to personalize their vehicles. Select the all-new 2020 Onyx Edition XT trim at our Birmingham Subaru dealership, and you’ll be welcomed by glossy black-finished exterior accents, 18-inch alloy wheels, specialty Outback badging, and a glorious two-tone cabin. Creature comforts and in-vehicle tech are also top notch; enjoy water-resistant StarTex™ seats, Dual-Mode X-MODE, and more.

The 2019 Detroit Auto Show unveiled several new cars and concept vehicles this January, but it was the Subaru Tecnica International (STI) S209 that won over our hearts and quickened our pulses. After all, this performance car is the most powerful, agile, and supremely exhilarating Subaru STI ever made in the U-S-of-A. Street-legal, four-wheeled rockets like this don’t come along often –perhaps the lack of saturation is a good thing for the segment – so when they pop into frame, you can bet we’re all over them.
Here’s all you need to know about the 2019 Subaru STI S209,
coming to a Subaru dealer near
you later this year.
Upgraded Subaru BOXER
As the automaker’s first-ever S-line STI performance vehicle
to be sold in America, the S209 features a boisterous 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER
turbocharged engine that makes a feverish 341 horsepower. The STI’s HKS-manufactured
BOXER EJ25 utilizes a low-restriction exhaust system and several strengthened
alloy-forged pistons and rods to reduce body weight, which results in bumps in
torque production (10% at 3,600 rpm), boost pressure (18 psi), and turbine
power (6%) over the Subaru WRX STI model’s.
Don’t just settle for a typical bouquet of flowers or skinny necktie as a Valentine’s Day present. Put some thought into it! To nudge you in the right direction, here’s our Jim Burke Subaru-approved list of the 10 best Valentine gifts to give the pragmatic car enthusiast in your life.
Cheesy callbacks to the 1950’s show Adventures of Superman aside,
there’s something truly special about this refreshed Outback. It’s in the mold
of a wagon yet has the extra cargo and passenger space of a crossover, and it
comes in six heroic trims. DC Comics, eat your heart out.
Two Engines, One
The 2019 Outback is powered by one of two engines.
Stationed on all 2.5i trims (base, Premium, Limited, and
Touring) is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder that makes 175 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft. of
torque, allowing it to tow up to 2,700 pounds.
Fitted in the 3.6R Limited and Touring trims is a locomotive-like BOXER 3.6L
6-cylinder engine that produces 256 horsepower and 247 pound-foot of torque,
allowing it to tow up to 3,000 pounds.
